So what are you lot doing

by Bigplumbs » 13 Feb 2016, 17:42

Because the Cure is a new boat to me I have a very long list of jobs to do on her. I am very pleased that in my tent I have managed to get through a lot of them. Today I was repairing scuffs and scrapes in the decals. I was sad because the previous owner seemed not to use fenders much or when the boat yard lifted it in they did not seem to use them. I have done a reasonable job with a colour match that is almost there. Hope it looks ok in the daylight.

I was going to try and upload my list but I have saved it in all sorts of format but I can get it to upload. It wont even take pdf

So what jobs on the boat have you lot been up to

Blimmin 'eck Dennis, that's what I call a list!!!

I'm interested to know what you do with your spare time.........

I'm afraid my list is a little shorter:-

1) Service Engine
2) Antifoul
3) Wash and wax

I Know but this is a new boat for me and many of the items are one offs and some are but a few seconds to do. I also now have a separate list for the engine and there are quite a few items on this. The manual I downloaded is very good indeed

Also there seems to be a lot more to do engine wise on a 4 stroke inboard with leg than on a 2 stroke outboard

Watch the rugby, wait for the weather to improve, fit new fuse in the aux circuit, refit all of the stuff that is at home to keep dry then go boating.

Wow! Most of my garden is underwater, so I guess I should be getting a double fix?

I have a new bow tank, deck filler and breather to fit to the little Fletcher, plus a good clean, brake overhaul on trailer and a few odd and ends... The project Arrowbolt list would be a book, so won't go there for now - except to say another 10 years should just do it!

I started a new job last week as a service coordinator for a local marine services company and marina - so a dream job! 'Downside' is a staff discount and credit account at the chandlery, so given my lists are long I need to be careful I don't spend more than I earn!

By gardening fix I mean denuded. Cut back and empty out. I live in a forest conservancy so no imported species etc. and all natural. But a cut back now saves on the summer headaches and boating time.
