Joka-Tu is up for sale again

by ColinR » 09 Dec 2016, 14:40

After less that a year Joka-Tu is available again on

http://www.southamptonwaters.co.uk

A bit cheaper but seemingly unchanged (from the pictures!)

Evidently the new owner did not take to boat ownership

Apparently he was a bit of a rich kid with loadsa spare cash. Turned up to the brokerage in a Porche the first time then a Ferrari.

Probably though it would suit his "image".

Glad I never met him

I'm almost tempted to offer him £5k under the asking price to see how desperate he is :D

That's one hell of a boat for £21k. If he's that rich offer him £12k

I would do just that - every boat has its price and if he wants rid then he may be up for an offer - any offer, dont use it, keep it for 2 months and put it back on sale for £5k more. - easy money.

On the same subject Im tempted to put mine up for sale and see what I get, If I had more pic's available and she wasnt wrapped up for winter I definitely would. £22k asking price and go from there on an offer of £20k. Love the boat but a £5-7k profit cant be scoffed at. From what Ive seen I think I could actually achieve that price too. just need the timing right so theres a dip in supply and hungry buyers wanting to go for the new season in a ready to roll boat.

No, I have emailed the broker out of interest. The reason that he is selling is, like so many people, the new owner did not appreciate what is involved in running a boat compared with a car. Also his wife and young kids did not really like it. I suspect the terrors of docking etc got to him.

Much as I loved the boat, and miss it, it's not the boat that I want to own now. Not found that one yet, the search continues.

On the same site there's a nice Monterey 27 footer though .....................

Race you to it Ian :D

Yes. Any or none of the above.

More of a cruiser than a sports boat so the 27ft Monterey is of interest. Alternatively a larger Merry Fisher type, 755 or 795 so that we can weekend away and I can use it for fishing with the mates. Not saily, the better half is just not interested.

I quite like the Merry Fisher style but big enough to have a proper cabin. I don't need the towing toys capability any more, it's more for a leisurely cruise to a nice anchorage for lunch and a glass of wine nowadays :D

Not rushing because of a few family issues but may start looking in anger next year. Plus if my early retirement plans come to fruition then something that I can easily handle solo that I can sit and fish off would get preference  :D :D

I understand what you're saying and good luck to you sir. :D We looked at merry Fishers but couldnt come to terms with the enclosed wheel house for the few sunny days Id want to be outside and enjoy the breeze through whats left of my hair. For anything thats used all year I think Id now be tempted to go for a MF having owned a walk around fisher with open cockpit & no canvas package. Basic layout but functional in the fishing dept without worrying about getting muck over posh carpets n cushions etc. Standard issue will be a builders bucket with fish residue and not to inviting for the other half for those w/ends away,
