Fletcher for sale on eBay, Transom rotten.

by Gazjen » 14 May 2016, 04:48

This seems a little odd, apart from the ad appearing to be written by a 12 year old it states the transom has rotted though from the inside, seems very strange for an inboard and it's not that old either.
Thought it might make a project for someone.

I would not think that boat should be broken for spares if it is only going to cost £1000 to replace the transom. You are quite right it would make a very good project for someone. Odd how rain water could have done as suggested to such a boat. Well worth an offer of say £3200. There must be someone on here who would like to bring her back to life

This came on the day after Spirit went up for sale on eBay, but the buy it now price was £3000. Seems odd that id didn't dsell but they put the price up? Perhaps they had a lot of interest but someone 'bought it now' who turned out to be a timewaster? Its possible, but a bit odd.

Agreed, all sounds a bit odd. Transom shouldn't rot by being left out either and very unusual for a 16yr old boat.

There are some weird boat ads om ebay, I find it amusing that the weirdest are usually placed by people with 100% positive feedback (in the last 12 mnths).

Like this one, he lives in Southampton, but doesn't know which county, but the boat is in Connecticut and is collected from Poole!!

A lot of those sorts of adverts are scams.
