Oh my god! It's happening!

I'm becoming an out-and-out yachttie! The Fletcher's up for sale!!!!

http://www.southamptondrystack.co.uk/boat.php?s=1998-fletcher-19-gts-with-mercruiser-3-0ltr-trailer

She's going to make somebody a fantastic boat, but it'll be like losing a leg when she's gone!

P.S. Don't know what's going on with the photos on SDS's website - but I know Joe, the guy who's in charge of the brokerage at SDS is suffering the flu, and was looking particularly off colour yesterday when I nipped in to see him! I'm sure they'll get them sorted, and I know it'll be up on all the big boat sales websites very soon, too.

Anna

I think you have got her on too cheap especially as it includes the trailer. She is worth all of £8500 I recon especially with all the work you have done

I reckon that at £7500 it's on the high side of right ie a broker price.

I think we could ask for more, and I'm sure we'd get it... eventually, but it'd take a lot longer. We're in no hurry to sell, as it's hardly costing anything to keep her on her trailer, but I'd rather she went to someone sooner. Then, the new owner could use and enjoy her this summer, rather than sit there, and require me to go down every few weeks to give her a clean / spruce up. Now we've got Hantu Biru, we can't justify the cost of paying to upgrade to a full dry stack package with launches to allow us to use her this summer - and of course, we're smitten with Hantu Biru, and are eager to get out on her at every possible opportunity instead. I therefore think £7500 is a fair asking price, and leaves us in a good position to accept close offers.

We are paid up for the full works in April, though, so technically, we could take her out for a farewell cruise - but the last few outings of 2015 were probably some of the best, most memorable I've ever had, and I'd rather end on a high than fall into the trap of the 'one last go' and end up having a (incredibly rare) disappointing trip out due to some unforeseen occurrence.

Not having had much luck with my broker (in fairness, they haven't really marketed her at all), I'm going to see if I can't sell myself.

It's funny how within 5 minutes of the listing going live, you get three or four silly offers come through! I'm up for a deal, but £2000 seemed very optimistic from one eBay user!

I actually find offers like that quite insulting. The person making that offer will be told that as well.

Oh and make sure to read the brokers contract, someone was burnt recently by the details when they sold privately and were asked to pay broker fees.

Anna
It would be a crime if you accepted less than £7000 for Spirit. I even keep thinking of offering to buy her myself just to have a spare. But it is the maintenance having already got 4 boats and one jet ski to look after.

People who offer £2000 are just plain insulting

Dennis

PS do you know much about temps on the mercruiser and what yours used to run at

Yep, be careful to clarify and sack them first.
