Trim Tabs

by BruceK » 24 Feb 2016, 09:51

:D I did say I didn't want to raise heckles and I really dont want to upset anyone. I used the PR500 on my SX tabs quite happily so unless they have changed then they will still fit.
People seem to think I am against smart tabs. I'm not. I'm against Dennis slapping them on without due consideration or trial, just because. I am against putting them on to correct a problem when the root of the problem is an unbalanced boat. I'm surprised that people here have missed what they really actually do and seem to promote them for their side benefit. I am trying to warn you of the consequence of trimming a badly balanced boat to get it to run true when on the plane and in a straight line, but all out of kilter then in a hard turn and hooking.

Hooking isn't nice. You've all seen this one.

I have decided to have the first season and then think about the tabs. Just went to the boatyard and agreed with the owner to put my boat in in the 2nd week in April..... Just a few more sleeps till then and still a bit to do but I think I am on track

The season is nearly here ..... nnnnngggggggggggggg. It's like being a kid at Christmas. Can't wait. Beautiful still day here, blue skies and calm seas. Went outside to soak in some rays and nearly got frost bite. Feck it! Spring cant come soon enough.
