I know, like most people I need the wind to drop and the field to dry out

I was down at mine today and although the cover I have is very good, it was still really damp inside, a tent like you have got would be spot on! Would mean that the air can circulate so much better.
Out of interest, how is it staked down?

The tent is a Dancover and quite heavy. Each foot is staked into the ground with metal stakes and I was also given a free gift of ratchet strap hold downs that are also staked into the ground.

You can dig the skirt into the ground if you wish but I am just going to fill some lengths of 100 mm dia drain pipe with concrete and lay those on the Skirt.

The small 'tent' like this I have has been up several years through some very rough weather and has stood up fine.

Look on the Dancover site they have lots to choose from and are quite cheap in my view

Well it has taken a while to have some decent weather but we put the frame together and up today. Not too bad but like all these things the instructions could have been better. I will know how to put another one up easily :).

Got to correct a couple of bits that we did incorrectly tomorrow, Move it into position and then see if I can get the cover on in these winds.

You are officially now our Boat Shelter guru. :D

Well done Dennis, I bet your very pleased and proud to get it done, I know I would be. It'll protect your pride and joy for the season to come.

How does it seem now you have it up? I mean, do you think its good quality and will survive storms etc. ?

The frame and how it went together is far better than I expected. The galvanising is very good and the poles very substantial indeed. All connections are bolted through and it has quite a lot of bracing. It has a lot of holding down systems on it and also I was given a additional storm holding down system as a free gift.

Like most people I was worried about its strength in winds but it actually inspired great confidence. I will take and post a few pics when I get back.

All in all it is quite amazing what you get for the money. My sister has a horse at my mums and she wants it as a hay store :)

The main delay has been that the meadow at my mums where the boat is has been quite wet and I did not want to churn it up with the disco as I need to move the boat to place the tent in position

Here is the shelter all put up now. I still have the ends/doors to complete but we ran out of time as we had a carol service to go to. Being slightly mad we put this up in winds gusting to 30 mph. But it actually went quite well. The people in the pics are her indoors (who was out doors today), My Brother in law and my nephew. It was quite hard work

I Already have hold down straps but for a little added security I thought I would add one of these to each corner. 4 in total
