BBQ on the boat

Not exactly sure if the American forums here should be the litmus paper test. Try your insurance would be my guess.

These things are big in Australia, but that doesn't mean they are good.

Australia does get a lot of sun and warm weather of course so you would think the mechanism is well tried. They also have a lot of big petrol engines in their boats so again you would think boat designed bar b q's are safe.

I think if the boat had Diesels then the risk of fire on board might be reduced.

For me, I like the idea. :)

But I am cautious about the possible flames and glowing embers in an area which might have a large tank of petrol surrounded by a material which might catch fire in a big way!

Not for me on board at the moment.

Just my opinion.

I have given up with disposable BBQ's as we had a few that proved to be useless.

My present BBQ for boating use is something like this

It has done the job cooking for two people and fairly easy to clean up after use. We use it ashore.

As I have a nice hole in my seat from a disposed of disposable BBQ that wasn't quite 'out' Im not a fan of disposables. Nor am I a fan of the idiot that put it there but I am grateful it set the seat alight and not the hull carpet as we crossed Poole harbour. :o
