Just did final step of winterizing
Started with Annual service ...... I always prefer full service at end of season, so I know it will all run perfect at Easter ... plus engine sitting in clean oil during layup.
At same time I get specifc steps for winterizing followed ....... just draining down is simply not good enough in my book ........ any retained water can freeze ...
Fuel stabilizer to right mix in full to the top tank ... At end of service boat is run to full temperature on muffs ... then switched off, remove muffs and engine then run in a bath of antifreeze mix.
Runs a few minutes to get whole of inside fully coated .... then fuel pump killed, allowing system to runt to empty ... emptying can of fogging oil in at the tine.
Engine fully drained ... then after a week I close drains.
Top up fuel tank to the top.
Stored with prop removed, drive down - with a carrier bag over leg to keep spiders out of drive.
This way any water that did by chance remain inside is treated with ant-freeze.
Battery removed - put on 5-stage conditioner over winter
Carpets out, all electrical connectors, throttle linkages, cruise control motor, fuse panel etc all sprayed with Corrosion block .... as are all hinges.
Seats blocked up, and engine hatch so air can circulate, floor hatch open.
Dehumidifier put in place .. and drain hose run out via transom drain hole. (set to 60% rhd - and left on auto)
Tower removed - so overall cover can be fitted, Covers on .. (2 sets) trailer jacked up so wheels off the ground on axle stands.
That is about it ... is fully under cover in its own boat shed, always surprising how much water gets kicked out by Dehumidifier in first week.
Around end of Jan or in Feb on a dry breezy day I will pull boat out and let in have day in the sun.
