Cox CXO 300 Powertrain

I'm not sure but I think they started development a few years ago and I haven't seen production models yet. However the idea seems advanced with David Cox, Formula 1 designer, horizontally opposed cylinders and two stroke diesel engine weighing only 300lbs and wait for it, its a British Company based in West Sussex no less. :D

What are your thoughts? Let us know if you think its good/bad and if it will work, bearing in mind sales to the RN and for Superyacht Tender market, both of which, I've read, don't have Petrol on board anymore.

I got as far as World's First PROFESSIONAL diesel outboard and then wondered what the hell they meant by that. Not for the leisure market?

Ah. It doesn't let me. Firefox browser?

Anyway back to the point. I'm all in favour but last I looked the prices of these things were so high that they will remain the preserve of the military and superyacht tenders until such time as they become competitive with traditional OB's

Last I heard they were planning on a retail of about £35k but do marine engines ever sell for their retail?

It's crazy, it has four cylinders with eight pistons, which must mean it has 2 crankshafts! :?
