Trailable Used Sports Cruiser around 20'

by Reidy » 14 May 2017, 12:48

Hello all,
I am looking for a trailable used sports cruiser of around 20' because I would like to drive in the dry.
The Peche Promenade route is not for me this time ( had a great Ocqueteau 575 before 2008 changed my circumstances.).
I have found a Finnish website which lists "Travel Boats" which look the part, in particular a
Belmar 575 ca
https://www.nettivene.com/en/moottorivene/belmar/673100
I have tried searching for reviews or information on Belmar, but as my Suomi is not too hot, not had much luck as yet.
Does anyone have any information on,
-Belmar ?
-Importing boats from Finland ?
- Other Baltic websites similar too Nettevene ?
- An UK alternative ?
Many thanks
Reidy.

Hi Reidy,

Welcome,

I've not heard of Belmar, but would guess that if they are made in Finland they're OK. We looked at a Finnmaster at the Swanwick boat show and they seem well made.

Although you say a walkaround fishing style boat is not for you this time, but you like the look of a Balmar 575, are you looking for something fast and that doesn't resemble a fishing boat or you just don't want a walkaround?

- love the walk around, best thing for big footed clumsy people who hate climbing over windscreens Try a Karnic 2050 / 60 they have plenty of down sides but it works well for a fishing boat not trying to look like a fishing boat .

Thank you both for replies.

The attraction of the Belmar is that I can drive out of the elements.

Plus looks easily trailable.

I had looked at Bayliner 2059, but a little odd from some angles.

Again cheers for your thoughts.

Bigplumbs,

thank you , yes I know Merry Fisher and Quicksilver Captur type pilothouse

I am looking for pre owned (ie less expensive ! )

I started trawling USA websites as there are lot's of boats over there and yes there were many of interest but I couldn't get the figures to work.

I then started looking at Scandinavia as they also have lot's of boats and at the moment I assume no VAT or Import Duty, unlike importing from the States.

So, that's why I was after any info on more Scandinavia boat websites and manufacturers' details for the Belmar.

All comments appreciated nonetheless.

Cheers
