Insurance

by AdrianTurner » 02 May 2017, 11:44

I hope to have my (new to me) boat ready for the water by the end of this month, any recomendations for insurers?
Fletcher GTO15 / Mercury 90hp 2 stroke.

Any thoughts on AIG or Beazley

Thanks in advance.

That's another I'm looking at, seem to be mid priced around £45 more than AIG or Beazley but cheaper than others I've seen.

Thanks.

I'm with Y Yacht Insurance, they come very highly recommended and beat most others on price.

We've had the Fletchers with both CraftInsure and Porthcawl (current) so can recommend both.

We've insured the Portofino via Curtis Marine in Plymouth however - much cheaper despite being in the water all year, not needing a survey and no NCD as it's a new policy! Shop around is my advice as like with cars, some seem to favour certain craft and weigh their risks differently...

Went with Porthcawl in the end, thanks all for your contributions.
