Sad news - Hunton Powerboats Romsey

by Ianfs » 18 Nov 2016, 21:22

Just heard from a source that Hunton Powerboats Ltd have gone into administration. Yet another sad occasion for British boat building.

I understand Jeff resigned 3 years ago, it is such a shame the current Directors couldn't make the business go forward, someone called Court I believe. Still I expect they'll walk away from their creditors, Nov last year was some £6.9m. I wonder if they have filed for a pre pack administration?

This is indeed very sad news. I am still very sad also about the loss of that great British Builder Fletcher

There must be someone on here with money to buy one of them. I just got made redundant so not me

Weren't Fletcher Boats bought by SBS, then there was a big fight in court who owned the name? Then last year Wessex (Mr Ahmed who bought Fairline) bought it from SBS and are trying to relocate.

Although very sad this has happened I cant help wondering if the new funding will go towards any of the losses that their creditors had to endure.
