Some Jobs while Redundant

Well having been made redundant 2 months ago (not the best time of year) I have kept myself very busy doing much neglected DIY at my house, my Brothers and my Mums. Patios, new sheds, A huge fence, Electrical work, Broadband, Telephone, CCTV Cameras, Hedge work etc etc. So I thought it was time I turned myself to my boats. First job which turned out to be quite easy (despite the ice in the frozen garden hose) was to wash the little rib which I am ashamed to say I put away dirty.

You will see she is off the trailer because I need to move the roller position as the rollers hit the tubes and not the hull at the rear. I also decided to give the trailer a referb and paint with hammerite. Isn't salt water fun. Thankfully this is a very simple trailer so not too much work to do.

I also fitted a tiny tach to the boat as I had no way of seeing the revs from the 4 stroke.

My next fun job is going to be to make a removable seat extension on the rear of the seat so when we are both on the boat we have a little more room. Oh and fit a drink can holder, and do a little referb on the prop

When on the water this little boat is so much fun I really enjoy doing little jobs on her.

Sounds like you've been busy Dennis. I hope you're OK and can secure employment soon.
Maybe you could earn some cash in the Summer on the water with sight seeing tours or exhilarating fun rides.

your doing more boat stuff than I am in my extended unemployment, only 2 excuses, laziness and £ hasnt stopped me wasting time booking a flights to Thailand though, Which reminds me Im looking for a recommendation on staying and what to do for 3 days in Kanchanaburi. Cant remember without looking at past posts but I seem to recall Im talking to the right person?

I am not looking for work yet. I will do that in the spring. I am quite happy catching up on all the jobs I have neglected to do at the moment.

I am sort of having a gap year/some months like all those young people do. I am just doing it at 54 lol

yes i said the same on 2015 and still here, although Im hoping that will change this week with a nice job in the airforce radio sector,
