Fishing off Bournemouth

by ColinR » 31 Aug 2015, 17:19

Has a day out yesterday from Poole on a commercial fishing boat. Slow start but then got into an interesting spot about a mile out from Bournemouth pier.

Apparently we managed 15 species including two trigger fish an undulant ray and this thornback ray, my biggest fish ever.

Nothing edible apart from loads of mackerel which was used for bait.

Sounds like you had a great day out, 15 species is excellent! Well done on the Thornback, that is one of the many species still on my list of 'want to catch'.

The trigger fish was the most impressive. Didn't know they lived around the UK.

Just going by what I was told.

I believe this is an undulate.

Same trip.
