Finally launched at about 7.45pm after a beer at Mercury and a cruise up to the Jolly Sailor and back. Nice at night - pics don't do it justice.ImageImage

Great pictures Mark, hope you're having a great time. Weather seems more settled.
We used to use Eastlands at the top of the Hamble to keep a boat, tides were usually 20 mins different to the mouth. I always used to believe the half the UKs boat owners kept their boats on the Hamble, it's just packed with them.
I have launched at Mercury on a low ish neap tide but the boat scraped the bottom a few times on the way out. Plus going to work Thursday morning that very big full moon lighting my way to my car would mean big highs and lows for you.
Enjoy today.

Nice pics Mark, its nice to see other boating areas as we tend to stick to the Torbay area.

Hope you're having a great weekend.

Well despite the wind we managed to meet Mark and were joined by Ian for a bit of a blast down Southampton water. OK Ian I concede Hunton is oretty quick :D

Mark and I split off at Calshot and headed back up to the Jolly Sailor for a leisurely beer or two. Ian went on to Cowes.

Great to meet you both and hope the trip home was easy.

I only got a couple of pics which I'll put up later.

Yes good to meet you both, Mark that little rib looked great fun but may be a little on the wet side for swell like today .

Have to say Colin I was pleasently surprised how well your boat handled the chop today, looked a dry boat,

Was running along side you around 28 knots then decieded to stretch the Huntons legs, And off we went :D

Going over to Cowes was a liitle lumpy but good fun, Did take off a couple of times,

Coming back we left at the same time as a 30 footish Sunseeker, Thought he wanted to have a race but did not seem to be handiling the rough stuff that well . Plenty of slamming,

Think he was a bad looser as cut the corner at the Itchen still going flat out and did not cut his speed to atleast Ocean Village , But was then doing more than 6 knots.
Did suffer a bit of damage , When lifted out at Saxon Paul said that my depth sounder was hanging off, ( lucky that 1 is redundant down) think it broke its fixings when we landed off a wave

Great to finally meet you both, very lumpy and wet for our little RIB but moored at the Jolly Sailor very nicely. Will post some pics tomorrow as just walked in the door - knackered but well worth it

A few picture, sorry Ian you were going too fast!

Interesting boat seen tied up outside the Jolly Sailor, sorry didn't get a pic - Wight Knuckle Ride :D

Oh, and after yesterday, even with the wind and chop, I'm reviewing my future choice of boat. It might just be joka-tu 8-)
