Were most likely out on Sunday. Wooten sounds a good target, the tides are good with high being early afternoon. Pint at the yacht club? We will most likely be leaving Saxon 11 is so would get there by 12:30 roughly. Maybe see you there. They do a reasonable burger and chips :D

Hi Colin, I might pop over to Saxon then for 11 ish. Does your mobile still end with 64? If so, I will give you a call as we leave Mercury.

Ian, tell Laura she doesn't need a facial, I'm really not worth the effort!

Hi Mark, yes it does. We're aiming to arrive at Saxon for 11, we need to bung some fuel in so there will be about 30 mins faffing about I'm sure

I've still got your number.

Do any of you locals know if I can launch from Mercury at all states of tide. It's looking like I am going to arrive bang on LW and recovering again at LW. Thanks

NO!!!!!!!!!

Mercury is tidal so you only have about 3 hours either side of HW max and once it starts going out its gone. If you try after 3 hours you may struggle without a 4x4 and the tidal flow will be strong.

Hamble Point has a wider tide range but again at low tide a 4x4 would be best.

Calshot is probably the best all tide but its the wrong side of Southampton Water unless you persuade someone to move the car+trailer whilst you bring the boat up the Hamble.

Yes, that matches my tide predictor. Just after 4 on Sunday the tide starts to go out very fast which makes approaching the slip interesting
