Yes I took it like that too. A lot of boat for that money, if I had that to spend I'd definitely be taking a look at that one.

Not for me I'm afraid, twin engine at that size for me and there's something wrong with the add that I can't put my figure on.

I've got my eye on an S25 at Chichester, oh and the Sunseeker 32 as well, going to see them this afternoon. See new thread!

I agree with ian. At 28ft twins would be right. And the ad is very iffy.

We had a good look over the S24 today. Packs a lot of boat into the space and it looks well looked after. A couple of minor maintenance jobs but the only major thing is a lack of anchor windlass. Apparently that's only about £500 fitted so not a show stopper. Next step is a sea trial.

Hmmm, on the way back yesterday we stopped by the Sealine and had a look from the sea.

The front end looks really quite dated, daughters first comment was yeuch, don't like that. Our boat is much nicer looking. I tend to agree.

Not completely writing it off but probably the search continues.

Didn't want to say but the S24 does look less inviting than its successors. It has the elongated nose, which the newer versions don't have as much and the higher waistline which dips sharply at the stern.

And to be honest Colin, your boat does look pretty damn nice! :D

Show her an S23.

Why thank you sir. Been looking about and maybe a Doral or Crown line would be better. There are a couple of diesel Dorals around which look nice. Unless a MF 725 comes up of course.

Dorals are great boats, Canadian and very well built. Crownline seem to offer a great package, better than most yank boats of their size apart from Monterey, I would say very similar. Not sure about economy, or sea keeping though, Martin would be able to advise us how the Crownline faired in a medium sea!

I wouldn't be put off by sports cruisers with 350mags. Personally i would only have one with a 350mag as you can still chuck it around when you want to have some fun. We have just spent a week in the solent doing short trips at different speeds from 20 - 50mph and only used half a tank which for the fun we had i think is not bad. Matt's boat did very well on the round the island trip and it wasn't the boat that made us feel ill. As for economy on the round the island trip it was really bad for the 350mag as it was probably doing 15knots round the back of the island in big seas pushing a heavy boat (4 people plus tender i think).
