In the olden days we used to be able to put Red diesel in boats, then they changed the rules!!
I remembered that there was a concession though and looked it up. So, if a boat uses some diesel for heating and stuff in a 60/40 split, its about £1 ish per litre...
There's a bit more to it I think, some of you boffins will know more about it but I think some fuel stations ask you to sign for it,
So a Sealine 25 at 17 Gal/hr flat out is about £70 and cruising say 27knts about 5-6 gals/hr , hmmmmm, 27quid odd....that's about 80 quid to go round the IOW, could I live with that, let me think for a nano second!
Or am I dreaming and miscalculated somewhere?
