Finally Some Footage

by mark101 » 21 May 2015, 09:28

First post on the new forum.

Finally got the boat out to sea a couple of weeks ago. A trip to Aberdovey with the sailing club.

Weather was blowing force 6-7 at times and although the video doesn't do it justice, the swell and waves we pretty significant.

Hopefully this will work and apologies for the same music on a couple of videos, only just worked it out and it is the first CD I could find that would let me add to the video.

Hi Colin

Wow, the Bayliner went almost 12 months ago

This is faster, cheaper to run and towable - I reckon it's the future

Sold easily then. The market seems very one way or the other. Either boats are going as soon as they appear or are around for ages. Did you sell privately or though an agent?

Through Ebay Colin. So long as you remain realistic, they will sell and I took £10k for the boat but I saved so much in moorings and fuel etc, it was a decent trade off.

Fair does. I've always sold through ebay myself so far. Only minimal hassle one time.

Funnily enough , .. we bought our bayliner on ebay ... was a very smooth and easy buy with excellent sellers who were prepared to bring her down from Stoke-on-Trent for us. 8-)

Hi Mark
Great to see you back and thanks for posting, vids are great.

Do you prefer the Rib to the Cruiser?

Hi Ian

It's difficult to compare the two.

I miss having the shelter, cup of coffee facilities (and loo to remove said coffee) and accommodation but I like the ease, relative low cost, speed and ability to visit other locations of the RIB.

On balance, I prefer the RIB, offsetting the marina fees against a nice hotel for weekending.

I am considering a bigger RIB for next year but this one is so fast and well sorted (having spent a decent amount upgrading) that finding a suitable replacement will not be easy. This thing accelerates like a super bike, certainly the quickest (not fastest) boat I have owned.

Next trip is a week in Salcombe first week of July. House booked and a pontoon for the week, can't wait. Just keep an eye out for some very amateur GoPro footage

I don't have Matt's skills (or patience) to edit such good videos (yet)

 :D
