Normally I don’t winterise and manage a few trips out over winter however this year, mainly due to work and other commitments I haven’t been out at all, I think it’s close to 6 months since I have taken the boat out so with a few hours spare this afternoon I managed to take the opportunity to get out on the water and blow away a few cobwebs. Luckily I had James (xboatboyx from this forum) come along to give me a hand.

Upon getting down to the boat, and starting the engine I was greeted with the dreaded constant alarm sound but a quick phone call and then a visit 20 minutes later by Tom (Tompa Marine) it was all sorted.

It was a quick blast over to Cowes from Saxon Wharf and back again but it felt good to be out on the water with the sun on my face, albeit with a chilly wind. Nice and calm all the way…
Roll on the summer…

Thanks again for the trip out. It was nice to be back at the sea for the first time this year. Hopefully the weather will stay settled and will allow for a great 2015 season 8-)

At least another couple of weeks before i can get out on the boat,

Lacking a dashboard at the moment, having a new one made. and replacing chart plotter at the same time

Also this coming Sunday I have a VIP tour of Sunseeker factory , was advertised on another forum , Was lucky enough to be allocated a place

I saw speeds of 34knots when we were going down Southampton water with the tide.

I did have to go back to work that evening but it did feel pwoper nawty heading out mid week !

The alarm was due to really low batteries after a while it stopped. Tom did the engine check and no fault codes so all good. Boat is filthy though needs a good clean.

Hopefully a few more midweek jaunts from us if our time off coincides.

At 34knts would you say about 16galls an hour, maybe a tad more? Not bad for a V8 and a boat that size.

Also was it dirty due to the rubbish tip?
