Which Marina/Dry Stack?

There seems to be quite a big selection of Marina's/Dry Stack's in the Southampton area, however they vary in price, some dramatically.

Trafalgar, Shamrock, Saxon, Kemps, Mercury, Southampton Dry, Hythe, Sparkes, Swanwick, Gosport, Port Hamble, Hamble Point, Port Solent, Hamble Yacht Services, Town Quay, Ocean village, Universal and even Lauren Marine.

Lauren Marine has moorings for a 23' boat at about £1100 per year, can't be deep water at that price though and Southampton Dry Stack are doing deals, is that because they are right next to the rubbish heap?

Trafalgar looks good though!

Not been here for a while.
Bought a new boat in Feb and have it in storage on her trailer at Trafalgar Wharf. Comes in under £800 pa for 6m boat.
They charge by boat length not trailer length.
Downside is you can't launch 2 hours either side of low tide. Only the dry stack has all tide access.
I've not been out yet though, so not sure how tricky the navigation is,.

Trafalgar looks good but it's a long way from the sea.

Southampton dry stack is, as you say, right next to the dump and you have to pass the more attractive Saxon Wharf on the way up.

Kemps is cheap but sat on the mud but for 90 mins either side of high tide.

Town Quay is nice but parking is a pain and you get a lot of wash from the ferries etc.

Ocean Village is a bit Hooray compared with Shamrock which is more boat yardy. Hythe is quite nice and has fuel.

Anything on the Hamble is expensive.

Sparkes is an option that we've thought of apart from it being a long drive for us. It is on the must visit list sometime though

Don't really know any of the Portsmouth ones.

Saxon is still my choice for now as you know. Wish they would sort out some fuelling option though (hint hint Jonathan if you are lurking)

Chris, I was just checking out the website again and came across this page with maps of the harbour and video from Port Solent to Trafalgar, they seem to skip 20mins though.

We have considered having the boat Drystacked at Cobbs Quay but at £3,400, we will be sticking with the trailer.

It's a big compromise but we will see. I'll get to see Portsmouth harbour at least

After 7 years at Saxon we are moving to Swanwick's new Drystack in a couple of weeks time. As we enquired last year before it opened we were given a quote with very good terms, unfortunately you can't get the deal now but they are honouring it for me this year.
New forklift, new racks, new pontoons with new fuel station right where you launch and with a pump out facility next to it. What more could you want.
I am looking forward to this year. Sea Start membership thrown in as well. Can't afford not to

Looks Like Jonathan should take note and improve what is on offer at Saxon ,
I am sure you actually pay for the sea start in the fees but its still useful to have, MDL need to take note of what other marinas are offering
