What happened to the Solent weather today

Sounds scary as hell Bruce
Dave surfing into the Hamble. I'll have to try that one sometime.

We did it one year coming into the hamble. On a windy day the slow speed means the boat rolls around and surfs on the wakes from other craft in Southampton water.

I saw this forecast in advance, hence why I took a small boat I've just sold for a hand over to the Thames. I'm not surprised by this thread, I've been in some really rough wind over tides coming into Southampton, some of it really quite brutal, What I will say however is this coming weekend is looking to be a cracking one... Get the boats ready. A nice weather ridge is going to form. If you want a round the IOW experience pick this weekend...

Typical, this w/e is a w/e off boating to prepare for the 18/19/20 in Poole for the Airshow, anyone planning that?

then leaving the boat in Poole for a long drive home and a return 3 days later for a 5 day in Torquay or Poole dep on weather over theB/hol. 3 years called off due to s##t weather so now we have a cabin the first mate is convinced any weather is a boating w/e away. :?

Hoping to be out fishing and watching the show on my mate's fisher. Depending on the weather.

Interesting pic, it looks like we had our all round white nav light up. I wonder why. It doesn't look that dark.

Hi,

I'm brand new to boating and haven't a clue!

Do any of you guys 'park' at Port Solent? Any tips?

Is there anything social happening that my husband and I can attend to 'make friends' :)

We've just purchased a little fishing boat for a family hobby
