Im surprised this didnt make more of a head line today but it should have, may be it did in boaty communities down south?

Im sure theres a reasonable explaination but I would have thought running the engines under the canopy isnt a good idea I assume they must have been 'dozing/1/2 asleep ' in the first place to not have been aware they were being put to sleep by gasing.

If anyone finds the video please post it so we can all see it.

How does one actually check to see if a CO monitor is actually working?

Shove it up yer exhaust pipe and see if it goes ballistic.

Or strap it to a budgie and stick both up yer exhaust. If the budgie dies but the meter doesn't respond it's not working.

LOL.

BTW. I'm not talking about the ones that you can buy for home but the one's built into the boat. I have sensors dotted about but never heard one utter so much as a squeak. Lights are on but is anyone at home?

I know what you mean, they just sit there doing nothing. When I picked our boat up the dealer said that they should be live even with the battery isolator off but that sometimes they weren't :?

There must be something to test them a bit like the smoke testes they use to check the office sensors but goodness know where you get them or how much they cost.

The one that we have at home has a test button but I think that only tests the battery.

A very sad story!
I fitted one while the boat was out of the water over winter. I had no reason to, just one of those things that was in the back of my mind.
When were in the cabin the engine is never running but still the little niggle of what if there in the back of my mind.
I completely agree about the testing question, mine has a button to press and it goes mad when pressed but as Colin says, thinking about it, I assume it does only confirm the battery has juice on it?

same here , we have a coal fire, bought it on eBay but it was a top brand and although it has a parts per mil read out its always zero, even stuck it in the fire and it still shows zero.

not sure the car will kill the canary Colin, just P's it off a bit. your car should have a cat convertor removing CO to CO2 (blimey I seem to have remembered something from school science lessons. ) :lol: Same reason you can't kill yourself with a engine and hose anymore I think but not going to try . :lol:
