Just had a look through the website and schedule for this, looks like it will be really good!
For some reason I had it in my head that it was just for fletchers??
Good luck with the weather!! 8-)

I'll second that! Hope the weather is good for you guys.

I'll be out in the bay at some point over the weekend so will keep my eyes peeled for you and take some photo's.

I pulled Hot Property out at the weekend and am now frantically working through a long list of things to do before we set off for Brixham.

I have pressure washed the hull ready for the antifoul and last night fitted a new depth sounder/fish finder (no fish in the Solent by the way).

As the weather is a bit uncertain I have dusted off the old canopy and it seems to be holding up quite well. It could really do with replacing but I have only used it twice in 2 years so its not a priority. I certainly won't win the "shiny boat award" but am I bovvered? Mechanical condition trumps shiny bits in my view..

Engine is running well and the misfire seems to have cleared. I did drain down 3 of the 4 carb. bowls in case there was residual water that was being sucked into the pilot jets.

Fuel wise the tanks are full and I will be taking 32 litres with me for a top up. I don't know what filling stations attitude is to fuel cans so I want to be prepared as possible.

I have a recollection that if it is a "proper" fuel tank i.e. designed to supply fuel to an engine as opposed to just a container, then it was permissible to fill up at a petrol station. I have 12 and 22 litre fuel tanks so may use these.

Anyone have any view on this please as we will be burning a lot in 3 days.

You should be OK Nick, I have never had an issue with any of the local filling stations.

I just put the cans sort of behind by car and fill them up swiftly

Thanks for your comments. I am not alone in deception at the pumps then!

I used hold up a 5 litre container so they could see I was filling it, and have my two 22 litre containers on the floor hidden behind the car.

I don't do anything now, just have all my containers out of the boot behind the car.

I don't actually know, I do know that when we are transporting a certain number of jerry cans at work we have to do it on a flatbed though..?
This year I am going to try a new plan. I have a plastic 20 litre can that I am going to fill up at a petrol station and put in the boat every time I go down to it, this will hopefully stop me having to pay the absolutely disgraceful and unjustified marine prices!
I have always carried 3 x 5 litre cans in the boat as spare and have never had a problem filling these up so we shall see.
Sure someone will try and stop me at some point over the summer..

The worst thing about cans is the smell in the car! :|
