Cobalt

Cobalt 220

by ModernFamily » 26 Jun 2016, 17:53

We are new forum members. We were the previous owner of a late 1980's Sea Ray Monaco 195 with 3.7l Mercruiser. She is a great boat but after four years we decided it was time for something larger and more practical.

Having spotted a Cobalt bow rider on Lake Annecy back in 2013 and loads of follow on research, we decided this was the boat for us.

So we started watching the market. We found very few coming to the market and those that did seemed to get snapped up quickly if they were any good.

We got the ball rolling by putting our trusty Sea Ray on the market at the end of last season. As soon as It got to the end of March we started getting plenty of interest and by mid April we had a genuine buyer who was keen to proceed. As luck would have it, almost the same day, we spotted this Cobalt appear on the market with Just Add Water Boats down in Cornwall. We took the earliest opportunity to go down and take a look and a deal was done the same day.

She has clearly been very well cared for by both previous owners and has come with a stack of history.

    Mercruiser 350 Mag V8
    Bravo III with Duo Props
    Factory extended swim platform
    Factory Bimini
    Factory Tonneau covers
    Factory Snap in carpets
    6x Fusion 200w speakers
    331 hours

She was originally sitting on an SBS R4/2500B but we prefer a bunk trailer for our style of boating so have upgraded to a brand new SBS R4/3500B.

It's early days, but very happy with our purchases and can't wait to enjoy the season and to get more photos and video.

Absolutely fabulous. Cobalt are probably the top of the American built quality boats along with Monterey.

Hope you have a great time with her.

Umm, I've posted your Lake Annecy vid of Well Earned in the Gallery, hope you don't mind. :D

Thank you. Having a great time, however certainly looking forward to letting her stretch her legs in Annecy this year!

Not a problem at all about posting the video. Really appreciated. However you may want to have a look at the YouTube link as incorrect video is showing ;)

Can you remind me where you go on lake Annecy? Camping, hotel apartment etc??
Hints and tips where to be and not to be. I think you mentioned on the old forum, or someone once told me anyway, that you need to be in a particular part of the lake otherwise you lose the sun too early in the day as it sets behind the mountains?

Seriously considering taking the boat there next summer or perhaps Lake Maggiore. have you been there ?
