Don't go too mad! I'd just draw up a scope of what is realistically needed and just stick with that... Don't forget that any inputs need protection.

Your right about not being too mad, but I think that if I I am going to get PCBs made I can draw up within the designer the ability to have all connections broken out and a sensor pcb that has multi-functions within it but then not populate it with components for now. At least that seems like a plan

For protection already have crowbar and fuse on the main voltage inputs. However on the A/D inputs I just have the voltage divider resistors with no specific protection. I think it is rated to somewhere around 6volts so I could put a zener in these inputs as well?

We noticed yesterday evening that the House battery voltage was 13.7 volts when it had been idling along at 12.6 volts (all approximate). I decided to go over and see what was happening. I put a meter across the battery and sure enough it was at 13.7volts. As you know I have a C-Tek intelligent charger connected (which is why you see the 14.6volt spikes as it pulse charges. Looking at the charger it had gone to "recond" mode - i.e recondition. Now I am not sure why it had done this as it is not in the programme and I cannot see in the instructions any point at which it automatically goes to recond from the pulse maintain cycle. I reset the charger and also brought the monitor home to update the programme as I had an unrelated change to make?

Any ideas? or is the live monitoring just showing me something that is normally hidden?

Was there a large drop in temps that correlated? Cold batteries etc.

I dont have an outside temperature sensor to correlate with on this version of the sensor.

I have looked through the manual for the CTEK charger and it should not have gone into the RECOND state. It should remain in pulse. The RECOND state is only available as a start-up option not as an automatic invocation. I can only guess that there was some sort of issue that caused the C-TEK to restart and to also think the RECOND option was active (mains failure or spike?)
