we had quite a number of halibut this year...but it has taken several (expensive!!) visits out there to learn where they are and how to catch them. Incredibly powerful fish. Nikki had a problem with the clutch on her reel one day and couldn't release it...big old halibut on the other end snapped 50 lb bs braid with no problem. Lots of muttering and a bit of foot stamping after that incident!
