Hi Robbie, and welcome. I assume this is for a marinised motor, not a car?

Hi Robbie

Welcome to the forum. The only place I know in the world which specialises in Marine BMW engines is this one. OK they're in Canada, but you should be able to get what you want from them via UPS or similar. Hope this helps. :)

Hi Colin, Yes its for a marinised BMW B220 with BMW sterndrive. they made these in the late eighties before giving up as could not compete with Volvo/ mercruiser.
the manifolds corroded so am hoping someone just might have one laying around :

Thought so but I suspect Ian might be closest to a solution although you never know what people might have kicking about.

Good luck in your search.

I'm intrigued, what is it in. Any interesting pics?

Another bit of help for you Robbie if you haven't found the part from v12. I was chatting to a work colleague who lives near Lancing, he suggested you give Lancing Marine a call. They specialise in diesels but also in marinising engines. If they don't have a part they may be able to fabricate one for you or point you in the right direction.

thanks Ian, will give them a try. there is one agent who specialises in BMW marine in uk and they are called PH marine. Peter the owner is a wealth of knowledge on these engines and outdrives but asked if I was sitting down with a very stiff drink when told me price of new ones. :D

xboatboyx AKA James, one of our very boaty knowledgeable members works at the same yard as Peter Humphreys. I doubt he'll able to negotiate a deal on anything though, because it is such a specialised engine and if BMW stopped marketing marine products in 1987, parts will be very hard to come by.

Oh and I have to say that I've seen pictures of similar Winner boats and the Viscount, a lovely looking craft. They have a great reputation for build quality.

Robbie, did you try the Canadian company?

Not anymore Ian. I now work at Tingdene Walton Marina in Surrey. In fact I never even met the BMW engineer at Val Wyatts.
