Petrol and Diesel below £1

by Ianfs » 06 Jan 2016, 10:08

Maybe you all have had it drop in your area's, but for the first time in years I have just filled the Landy with diesel at 99.7p per litre. :D

Roll on Spring, how much does your tank hold...... 125-400 litres maybe? That's some saving on 2014 prices. :D

That's what I paid yesterday as well. First time I've ever purchased white diesel below £1.

Certainly makes a change to get more litres than the price your paying. :D
Sure there was a thread on this last year that we all discussed, think I also said I didn't think it would drop below £1 per litre... glad I was wrong!!!
300 litres please..

So the million dollar question, how long will it stay low... Ed, you correctly predicted last year that it would drop by another 5p, and it did.. Come on, let's have another prediction.. :ugeek:

I can remember when petrol went over a pound gallon ( must have been in the 1980's). At that time I think diesel was cheaper than petrol.
£1 a gallon = about 22p a litre

I don't always trust MSN for their accuracy, but this is a reasonably interesting article................

Ive got an empty tank and we're still on 113 a litre of diesel up here in rural places, 105 in tesco, not sure they get he principle of a yoyo --what goes up goes down as quick.

I'll be happy to pay below a pound a litre for my Landy. She's as fuel efficient as she is reliable which makes her very thirsty indeed, but for boats I seldom pay more than 80p a litre and considerably less in winter with the split. About 80p a litre on a 60/40 and less than 60p on a 80/20 split.
