Most fuel efficient "fishable" boat

by fpjeepy » 18 Aug 2021, 21:27

I'm curious what people have found for efficient fishing boats. It doesn't have to be a strictly fishing boat, but something that one could fish off.

The best I have found so far is an older Arvor 180 w/ 50hp Nanni diesel. 13 knot cruise, at 6 lph works out to 2.2 nautical miles per liter.

Anyone find anything better than that?

Hi and welcome.

Arvor did make great boats, but are sadly no more. However there are some nice boats still on the market and certainly anything with a Nanni diesel is going to be a good buy.

This video may help choose a fishing boat for UK waters. It's from John Lockers YouTube channel called The Fish Locker. John has held the Official UK Bass record since 2012, although there have been some contenders, one from the Isle of Wight, unfortunately he ate the fish and another who put it back without witnesses although he has a video of it being weighed.
