For many years this was argued on the old forum. As Martin says theres lots of Ski clubs with LPG tanks for small Fletcher and bow riders etc. so fitting LPG has been done and is achievable. However when I approached an LPG boat conversion /dealer in Torquay harbour I was laughed out the shop. In short I told it was suicide waiting to happen. Tank too big & Gas seepage would settle in the bilge and it would be impossible to vent given the 'design' of the boats, soon after BOOM and a call out for the Torbay lifeboat. I have no idea HOW that was true, he was the expert. But as he followed up that with the cost at £1.5 to £2k it wasn't something I was prepared to consider as viable or cost effective over the life time of the boat.

I always err not he side of caution with these things but having looked at car conversions a few time its never been a sound investment for the time I keep cars over my mileage costs. May be our younger engine experts have a newer opinion?
