Recommendation for fuel transfer pump

by Stevie101 » 25 Sep 2016, 20:43

I use one of these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391212942947

It emptys a 20L can in 2/3 mins and you don't spill any.
If it's got Tyres, Tits or goes on the water it's going to be expensive

Octobver issue of Practical boat owner showed how to build a small pump from ebay bit n bobs for £10 - looks like the small 12v option to save you working to hard at pumping/sucking/siphoning.

I bought one of those from the boat show a few years ago it's great, takes about 3-4 mins to empty a 20l can.

Make sure the end of the pipe will fit into the can as one of the ones I bought didn't.

Sort of returning to the OP

Siphons don't work up hill ....... would be good to know of a pump that will transfer fuel to my boat when it is on trailer ... I use 20L containers ... but they are heavy to hold above your shoulders .. and the filler spouts air lock as they are emptying so flow rate is slow.
Can't use a funnel as filler is on vertical surface, tried the flexy spout funnels ... no good as you can't hold that upright at same time as holding 20 L can.

I have two jiggle tubes, the larger one will shift a 20ltr jerry can in under 2 mins, more like 1.

Bought one from the guy at the boat show and the other (cheaper) at Beaulieu boat jumble.
