Too many projects - not enough time!!!

by lewlew100 » 06 Apr 2019, 21:49

I have just posted a couple of pics on WSF, and am posting them here now. Basically the same as earlier pics, but WH roof and windows now permanently fitted. Geoff.

As I said in another post I was thinking of ordering some of the faux foam that wrinkelywideboy used. I ordered and have now received 5 no 8'x4' sheets ft the grey/black unlined sheets and intend to rout out my own "planks" with a margin all round each panel. I have also now managed to get the boat onto the four wheeled trailer that I will be using for the boat, but will need to make a few more adjustments to suit. Geoff.

It would be good to hear how you get on with the router, it’s something I hadn’t considered. Where did you get the sheets from?

The boat is looking very good. I only come on here infrequently so catching up with what is happening takes a long time.

I am not yet quite ready to do the flooring yet, but when I do I will post some pics to let you know how it works out. I did not buy the sheets on the bay, but directly from the manufacturers in China although they were shipped from their warehouse in Italy. Ordered Sunday night, arrived Friday morning. They have a minimum order quantity of 10 sheets, but only had five in stock (that suited me better) so I had a bit of luck there!!! Geoff.

I cut my first faux teak (grey) deck sheet today. I am posting a poor quality pic of it still on the router bed. The crease lines visible across the sheet show up because I switched the vacuum hold down off before taking the photo. Those lines are caused by the paper backing covering the self adhesive sheet buckling when the sheet is rolled up for posting. When the sheet is vacuumed to the bed it is far less noticeable and the routed sheet with planks and margin looks quite professional IMHO. Geoff.

looks good Geoff are you taking orders yet? I would say I’d swap a new cover for a floor but not sure I want to go through that again
