Inflatable Trailer

by Bigplumbs » 01 Apr 2019, 06:59

In my quest to get a light trailer that I can transport in my Caravan, erect at a campsite and use to locally transport my Honwave T38i I have been thinking about some sort of inflatable trailer. I thought about this based on tents that have high pressure tubes as their structure and indeed the very floors in our sibs.

I don't think there would be an issue with getting the materials strong enough to withstand the pressure needed but most likely the pump which would need to be 12v powdered would not be able to reach the desired PSI to keep the whole trailer ridgid.

You may have to design some inflatable steel girders to run the length of the inflatable trailer Dennis, that would possibly give you the required rigidity.

Whilst you're doing it, why not go the whole hog and design an inflatable Discovery to tow it?

Only for use in very low winds of course.

Or you could just wait until after lunch by which time the need will have disappeared. :D

I have a friend who used transom wheels and converted a used electric golf trolley to attach to the bow of his sib.
Then he just presses the go button and away he goes. It breaks down and goes in his RV.
If it's of interest I can ask for some details
