As with all breaking news the story is confusing.

The picture clearly shows it hitting "72 - Hamble Point" South Cardinal.

But the story text talks of it being on the Hamble outside Warsash Acadamy. And a witness says it was going fast at 15 knots!

Anyway the main picture tells it all, hope they survive.

Some more pictures here. A bit (lot) more than 15 knots. I've seen that one hammering down Southampton water, more like 50 knots. I think it's base upriver from us, possibly Drivers Wharf.

Definitely the South cardinal. From the wake it looks like it was taking a sharp turn to starboards and caught a wave.

Very nasty.

I'd go with slightly more than 15 kts from the pictures also!!
Let's hope they're all ok!

I am going for steering failure as you say the wake shows a sudden sharp turn and it was described as being "tested"

Boat is based at Drivers .
The reports are saying over 80mph , The Driver Peter Dredge was out testing with his 15 year old son and 2 others ,

From various reports Peters Son was seriously hurt and in a critical condition,

a Million pound boat being tested,

I went to school and was in the same year as Peter ,

Thoughts with all of those involved

Ian, I know this name, wasn't he a double world champion and winner of many championships? A very experienced man I think, something must have gone wrong.
