Jeanneau

Merry Fisher 645

That is really impressive sprocker. I wondered whether you had moored up behind us yesterday on Salcombe's Whitestrand drop off pontoon.

It wasn't you though (clearly) but he seemed happy cooking bacon and eggs and full of the joys. Nice little boat mind!

Just for comparison, the RIB uses around 20l each way on the trip to Dartmouth. A trip of between 15-20 miles (didn't take a direct route).

Paid £1.76 per litre to fill up in Salcombe yesterday.

What you pay for convenience hey.

Nice boat Sprocker I do like the merry fishers. I had the Suzuki 150 on my Karnic and she flew. Good engine.

The 30 litres for 50 miles is impressive.....but it was done off the fuel gauge, so I choose to believe it is very accurate.

I'm just calibrating the Lowrance to engine/fuel etc so should have a better idea of the real fuel consumption in a few months. At the end of the day the fuel consumption isn't a major thing anyway, we now own the boat, we're going to use it whenever we can, and we're going to keep putting fuel in when needed.

Mark - £1.76 / litre!! Wow that is expensive. Is most harbour fuel that expensive?

I think that is exceptionally expensive. I know berth holders at MDL get fuel at cost, which is more or less supermarket prices.

Salcombe is what it is. I guess most can afford to pay this and we only needed a bit, so whatever.

I wouldn't fancy having 300-500 litres of the stuff though.

Salcombe is a fuel barge, which sits in the estuary - does that justify the additional cost? Who knows?
