Polysteps, Teignmouth, Devon

Launch sites, slipways and cruising in the South West of England

Just a heads up folks ..... If you plan on using the Polysteps in Teignmouth, there's a smegging ditch right at the bottom of the slipway. ... Ditch is about a foot and a half deep and about two feet wide .... was enough to land my trailer on it's tail end and wouldn't be moved until I got Vonny off it.

Ouch! Hope there was no damage Carl.

Is the ditch fairly new? I don't remember it being there when I used to launch my kayak from there.

Y'know this is seriously a big thing with me, possibly an OCD overload! WTF are the owners/caretakers or whoever looks after the ramp thinking about. If it was somewhere in a public area which would be an H&S issue there would be a flipping great sign somewhere.

Why can't they simply put up a sign to say there is a drop off :?: :?: :?: :?:

Carl I hope there is no damage to your boat/trailer?

There was no damage to Vonny, .. but one of the runners on my trailer has shifted quite a bit (I have a bunk type trailer)

now have to straighten them out the next time as I have a slightly wobbly Vonny sat on her trailer ... :x
