It tows really well to be fair although I did get it stuck in the sand slip at Aberdovey but that was a traction issue not a lack of power. It is the 350cdi so you hardly know it's there.

I tow with a 2003 2 litre Mazda Tribute. It shifts to 4 wheel drive when it needs to - or at the press of a button. It happily pulled our cabin cruiser across country and over the Pennines from Liverpool to Redcar in a howling gall - and it's fine on slipways. Loads of room for luggage and provisions with the back seats down. They don't make them any more and I don't like the later models. It's getting old now, but it gets through the MOT each year and I wouldn't want to lose her just yet.

Thanks .. I inherited it so not sure. But it is such a good fit with chaffing patches built into the right places I think it must be. Or it is off the shelf patterned for the boat.

Touareg R-Line 3.0 V6 with SBS R4-3500B trailer. Fantastic tow car for those 'high speed' long journeys. Air suspension makes it very easy to launch in shallow slipways
