Trailer set-up for Regal stepped hull

by mlines » 10 Dec 2014, 16:23

For Alex as he was asking. This is how my trailer came when we purchased it and it has been set up for a Regal stepped hull.

One for Martin -

does your stepped hull sit on the centre rollers anymore? Im looking at the same problem under the Karnic. Ive adjusted the roller so she actually comes off the SBS trailer same as yours but now Im faced with the scenario that the front half is on rollers and centre roller, at the step (which is a lot smaller than yours) it then levels out to be supported only on rollers. Nice and easy to get on/off for launching but Im not sure missing 4 centre rollers is a good idea. so wondering really if I should lower the back half down again but i risk it catching back on the hull step.

It only touches at the very front.

looks pretty similar, may nik the plans for your add on wheels.

the SBS quality is far from recommendable, last week I changed the front roller and spline as both were bent and rotten. Launched last week and the new front roller is already compressed so much its about to crack. I'll definitely need a nylon roller on the front /first centre roller even though she is equal balanced the design just can't handle a boat of any not standard shape.
