Upgrading the docking lights

by mlines » 07 Feb 2015, 19:23

Mark, the previous owner of the boat did a great job in upgrading the boats lighting, however there was a job left to be done. The Regal 2250 has docking lights on the bow and these were left as standard halogen bulbs.

As standard they are 25 Watt and are probably 400 lumen with a colour temperature of 2700K (Warm white). And of course being halogen they draw about 2 Amps each.

So a quick look on the internet found these LEDS from http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk. They are 7 Watt, 690 lumen, 5500K (Daylight white). Although not completely clear from the picture they are bright white and much better than the old halogen and draw around 0.5 Amps each

Amazing, LED's have come a long way in the last few years.
