Boat Safety Scheme

by MartynG » 01 Nov 2015, 08:51

I have Sealine F33.
The boat safety certificate expires soon. The surveyor is coming on Tuesday (hopefully) .
I haven't made any relevant changes since we bought the boat in 2014 , other than to add an extra fire extinguisher.
The BSS surveyor did the pre purchase survey for me and picked up on some faults which are now all sorted - so the new BSS certificate should be a formality ......................I hope.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope all is well. :)

We lived in Marlow for eleven years up to 2006 and the BSS was high on our lists of worries, I empathise with you upon its renewal, I have lost contact with it now and rely on mlines or xboatboyx for information. :)

Martin (mlines) and James (xboatboyx) keep there boat a beautiful Regal 2250 with a massive engine, at a Thames Boatyard and are also eclectic users in which they use their craft, that is either Poole or Henley on Thames area's for just two examples. This includes some of the Henley on Thames Regatta, which I might add, swmbo can elaborate on. Plus they have also introduced us to The Henley Revival!! :D

The BSS survey is Tuesday morning . I can't be there and to be honest not sure I could do much .
I have made access as easy as possible by removing the cockpit cushions (helps with lifting the engine bay hatch) and I have cleared some things from the lazarette , which is where the eberspacher is located.

I think you've done everything you can.
It's always an anxious time and we can only wait with you hoping the best. :)
