I’ve found my next boat !!!

by wrinklywideboy » 08 Sep 2020, 09:34

Yes, I’ve found my next boat ( I wish ). I’ve just returned from a trip out on this beauty, my friends brand new Aquila 36 motor cat. This is the brand new boat I’ve been on, what a fabulous experience. The performance and ride was very impressive ( fuel consumption a little eye watering ). My first experience of joystick control wow ! what an amazing bit of kit , and the computerised information screen is something else ( I’m pleased if all my gauges work at the same time ). This is the ultimate party boat with so much space. Below deck 2 double berths each with own facilities, simple nothing pretentious.
Do you think I can start crowdfunding to ensure this old man gets his dream , or like all my dreams when I win the lottery.

That does indeed look like a cool piece of kit! Never seen one before, thanks for posting.

I'm going to have to call you wwb since my typing is next to useless, one maybe two fingers only.

That is some piece of kit and as Doc said, its the first I've seen one and therefore being a boat nut I was compelled to look them up. First of all that's a lot of boat for the money (£385,000 was a price I found), also great space. I would prefer two Volvo D4's for economy but those Mercury's would be cheaper for maintenance I would guess, although a little thirsty. However, they are made in China, wow!!! Who would think?? Not that that's a bad thing but I hadn't realised they had a boat building background, lots of boat manufacturers moved to Thailand so I suppose its natural progression that if the factory is efficient and of good quality why not eh?

Your dead right Ian ! I thought what great value for money. The build quality is second to none and the attention to detail is amazing, if you look at the stainless steel welding it appears seamless on the rails and roof supports. Easy access to the wiring through clipped panels on the roof and sides and when you open the fuse box and control panel it’s all labelled. My friend has already fitted a stern facing camera so he can monitor when he’s towing toys.
A couple of months in and he’s still over the moon about the boat and why not !
