I’ve always parked in west quay car park, ( mall car park ) just opposite entrance, has always been sensible prices.
I actually can’t remember if last year was my last visit or the year before.
Will be interesting to hear your thoughts on it.
When was your last visit.?
Any possible purchases this year... how’s the sale going?

Never been to Southampton (show or otherwise) .. hence looking for advice.

Been offered a very good trade-in price, so it may go that route, still up for sale but no interest.

Aligns with boating in general ... 30 yrs ago where I launch was full of runabouts every weekend ... loads of Fletchers, Pictons, Simms, Shakespeare, Broom etc. The days when a powerful boat had a 70hp on the back.

Local waterski club with a ski jump in the water .. no longer there.

The British manufacturers all closed down ... even local manufacturer (Dave Picton) ceased making his range around 20 yrs ago, changed to ribs ... that business was sold, and new owners shut down manufacturing in Wales.

I suppose it’s a sign of manufacturing that of British built boats I have owned... all the manufacturers have ceased. Not only stopping a lot of people from buying, but year on year reducing the size of the 2nd hand market.
Fuel costs are also very significant .... my first boat I could put petrol in at 76p a gallon ..... and a hand carry 5 gallon tank was good for a days skiing.
Now my boat uses fuel at £5.45 a gal .... and a 36 gal tank.

I now pay more to park my car than a days skiing used to cost me.

I'm going on Thursday with Paul as he has got some cheap tickets. We're going by bus but the West Quay shopping centre car park is only £5 all day.

We went on the first Saturday and parked in a charity carpark by Southampton town quay, £10 all day but went to a very good cause.

We all thought that there were fewer people there this year even for a sunny day.

I did look at potential replacement for the Hunton and believe that it is what I need next :D
