South Devon holiday snaps

by sprocker » 20 Jun 2017, 13:43

We took a weeks holiday last week, which as we now know turned out to be some of the best weather we have had for a long time, wind & seas were perfect all week. Here's a few snaps which show off just a small part of the beautiful cruising grounds on our doorstep.

Day 1 saw us cross the bay to Brixham for an overnight in the marina and a chance to top the diesel tank up.

Day 2 around the coast a few miles to the west for an overnight at anchor in one of our favourite bays.

Image

Day 3 further around the coast to Dartmouth, always has been my favourite harbour entrance!

Image

We went straight up the river Dart to a very picturesque village called Dittisham, where we took a mooring for a couple of days and explored the river by tender.

The view downriver.

View from the pub!

Gin Trap on her mooring.

Day 5 back down to Dartmouth for the night.

Day 6 back East around the coast to another favourite of ours - Babbacombe Bay. Where we met up with friends for the weekend.
View of the pub that we frequent - The Cary Arms.

Here we rafted up to our friends boat for the weekend....a stunning Princess 50...which makes our 30' look tiny!

The resident celebrity came up to the tender to say hello.

Then back to Torquay on Sunday for a day of boat cleaning. All in all a fantastic week away, the first time we have spent more than a long weekend aboard.

Happy to swap notes and make recommendations if you need any info. There's always cold beer in the fridge if you happen to call into Torquay.
