Porthwen Anglesey - weekend trip out

by BruceK » 05 Jun 2017, 12:26

Boarded the boat on Thursday evening for a pre 8am departure on the tide. Porthwen is about 30 nm up the coast so were there in just over an hour thanks to mill pond seas. Stayed on the hook until Sunday BBQing on the beach while the kids explored the ruins and hills surrounding. Left early Sunday for Penmon point where we dropped anchor waiting for the evening flood. Kids and wife disembarked and went rockpooling for the day.

Fantastic Bruce, that is what boating is all about and makes up for the time and money spent on repairs and maintenance. Geoff.

Thanks, it was a good weekend. The bay sheltered us from the wind and was quite warm. The water was amazingly clear too. I didn't brave them but the kids did as did 4 young women which without being pervy brightened my day as they frolicked about in the shallows. I realise I've got old when I take as much enjoyment when I see youngsters having fun.

Great camera work Bruce. I especially like the shot of your boat in between the rocks.
