Sealine S24 Sports with a Kad32

by Matt13 » 14 Jul 2015, 09:31

Well they are definitely well thought of boats don't think you can really go wrong if it's been looked after.

When I get sensible mine will be the sc35, silly sensible would be the princess V39.

I also want to do the channel thing but wouldn't feel comfortable doing it in my Crownline.

the S25 2005/6 models with KAD32 on offer for around £35,000 to me that seems like a decent price for a cracking little boat. S24 seem to be around 10k cheaper.

Exactly.....And if you multiplied that by two, I wonder whether it would buy an S28?

Just a thought. :D

To be honest at the moment I wouldn't want anything bigger that 25-26ft. I am likely to be solo, or at least with people that do not know what they are doing and the berthing costs are more reasonable. Not to mention fuel economy. I have no lust for a mahoosive Sunseeker, I think you get more fun from a smaller boat.

All I want is a boat that Sarah and I can weekend on, that I can go fishing from, and generally sit on to escape the rat race for a few hours.

All respect to Ed and the other speed merchants but I'm not really interested in mega performance either now.

Hence the pocket cruiser / cruiser-fisher style that seems to be catching my eye.

Plus with two daughters heading for marriable age I'm getting nervous about how much that is going to cost me, anyone want to elope with one or both of them to save me the problem?

Call me I'll let you know from first hand recent experience for 2 girls, but you must be sitting down and have had an ECG to make sure your heart is OK. As a guideline for the 2, you may be able to buy 2 x S24's or an S28, however if and only if you are lucky, you might get away with the cost of one S24 for both of them, but its highly unlikely!

Where I was going was a boat share, a slightly bigger boat which would be about the same ish cost to stack/berth as a smaller craft with half the cost to pay and half the maintenance costs. :D Trouble is it would have double the engine servicing of the smaller boat. :?

That's if you can find someone to do it with. :D

I'll tell you about boat shares next time we meet over a pint

I've seen a number of good friends never speak again and that was over a manky old RIB worth a few hundred quid.

I know you have been through the ringer before on this, are you sure you want to do so again?
