Possibly a lot of boat for the money - Norco 29

Hi Ian.....I'm with you on the "somewhere in between" thinking....loads of headroom in the cabin thanks to the high foredeck, but a bit narrow....then again you get payback for that by the safety aspect of the walk to the bow along each side with the nice high rail......she is tall looking which can rapidly turn into a sail when berthing though
Personally I wouldnt be worried aboutthe Nv gear / Radio aspect...everyone has their favourite makes and models and we all tend to change them as we go if needed in any case....
The Yanmars are renowned for reliability...and that sems plenty of power for this size boat.....
I bought our Searay without a survey, knowing there were mechanical issues on the horizon but was happy with the hull, furnishings and layout, but I would expect a short seatrial with this one being an unknown hull

At the end of the day....beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you could get a good price might be worth a punt....

Apart from the resale value which is moot tbh the thing I would be most concerned about is the weight distribution of twin diesels in such a small boat and how that affects her sea handling. I would be very wary about purchasing until you've had a sea trial and make that a get out clause (not normally part of the process) because you are unable to research that aspect of the boat due to her uniqueness.

Bruce, I absolutely agree and as I said it would be a prerequisite and a sea trial should in this case be part of a get out clause, as would a number of other points, should anyone else consider such a purchase.

I think the engines would add to the sea worthiness, looking at the way in which she sits in the water, her bow is high enough to work well and I actually think she would not dive into a trough as much as some boats, but instead perform in a similar way to a Sunseeker Superhawk. I could be wrong though, which is why I agree that a sea trial should be a prerequisite.

Having listened to the advice from all you guys, you confirmed the nagging thoughts I had telling me no. It ticked all the right boxes for size, twins, shafts etc., but it was lacking in lots of things. The fact that it was a one off and although it had provenance there is no track record.
Does that make sense? :)
