I agree the Cranchi looks great and has a good engine combo.

Unfortunately I got carried away and got chatting to a really nice retired chap about his Sealine F33.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that we set our budget way too low.

If you are thinking more in Sealine territory then James is preparing a nice example ready for sale but it would be pushing £120k once he has given it some TLC

Hmmmm Cranchi!!! My friend Trevor has his Cranchi endurance 35 currently listed on the bay, item no. 272536293946. A very nice boat and IMHO priced to sell. I went down to Northney Marina at the weekend and added to the boats sold - I bought yet another Fairline Carrera, non radar arch model this time, but it does have the advantage of having ab engin!!!e The boat needs a good clean and several jobs doing, but I thought it was offered at a very reasonable price and would be the quickest way for me to get back on the water. Geoff.

Cornering the market? definitely not. The first Carrera was bought as a hull/superstructure only project to fit out and fit an engine/drive unit. I then bought an old Sunseeker S23 because it had been fitted with a new Volvo 4.3 GXI EVC + dpsa leg in 2009 and has only done 65 hrs since. On looking out for parts for the boat I found another Carrera, complete boat, but missing its twin engines and drives. I more or less decided to fit my Volvo engine and leg to that boat as it would be easier than the fit out for boat no.1, This would of course mean converting the transom to suit the single engine. I did think that if doing the transom work it might be an idea to consider a single diesel. Whilst looking for a suitable diesel engine/leg at a reasonable price, I found one at Northney, but it was already installed in - youv'e guessed it - my favourite boat, a Fairline Carrera. I know these boats are old fashioned now, but I bought one new (I could not afford it or justify it) in the mid eighties. I only kept it for a couple of years and sold it to help fund a house purchase and restoration. We named that boat IDLE VICE, although as we collected the the boat from Fairline on the 1st. may, my wife took some convincing that the boat could not be called MAYDAY!!! Anyway, I am sure that some members from the south coast area will be familiar with my latest addition to the fleet, MISTRAL (I think she was at Southsea marina). Mistral does need a bit of TLC but I think she will polish up quite well and does at least have a working engine/leg and is afloat, She will be trailed back to Lincolnshire within the next couple of weeks. Now of course a I want to un-corner myself from this market so will probably be looking to the "bay" in a few weeks time. I have a very tolerant wife, but I think that even her patience is running out!!! Geoff.
