When you're tempted to have a look......

by Ianfs » 11 Oct 2015, 09:08

Up to about 5 yrs ago or so, we had spent most of our savings on children, house, cars, oh the list goes on......Consequently we stuck with our small Sea Ray because it was all we wanted to afford at the time, although even she had some biggish bills.

Now that we've managed to sort things out, daughters married, sons married, other son sorted at Uni (PHD they get a wage..yippee) we have a little cash to splash.

Its amazing what tempts you, I had a really good look at this and then the reality of things like comfort, maintenance and its old furniture set in, but she is pretty to look at.

Fairey Marine Huntsman 28, 1965, twin Sabre Diesel's 225hp each! Not sure about that trailer though, it may need a bit of maintenance.

Its a beautiful classic boat Ian, it will also be a money pit!!

On another subject, I saw Jorida at the drystack this morning - is this your boat or a friends?

Hi Nick
Yes absolutely, I'm in complete agreement, the money pit certainly sprang to mind five minutes into looking at it.

Jorida is in fact owned by a delightful chap and one of our founder members called Paul. He used to belong to the same dive club as our very own ColinR. Nowadays his waterborne activities are above the waves.
