F5 to Wooton IOW and Fog on Hamble

by NickT » 10 Oct 2015, 15:47

Just uploaded some vids taken over the last few weeks.

Bit bouncy on the way to Wootton, you will see at the end of the vid!

Fog on Hamble - you can hear me muttering as someone charges in at around 8kts in the fog..... I couldnt see a thing so beached on the Hamble shingle until fog burnt off.

Harbour Master trundled down as the fog lifted and asked if I was OK. A boat had been reported on the bank by some fishermen earlier... :?

Wow, I love the vid of you bouncing through that sea. Trouble is on first impressions the Fletcher hull doesn't give away how bad it actually was, until the camera twists on its bracket and you see your crew hanging on for dear life.

The second video could well have been taken in Antonio Bay, I half expected Blake to jump out of The Fog. :o

I like that I now have proof that I'm not the only one who ducks down under the windscreen when I'm passenger and a bit of the wet stuff comes over the bow!

I've never moved on the boat in the fog, but I have woken up at anchor to find we're swamped in the stuff. It's incredible how it can be so serene, but terrifying at the same time. Eerie!

Great videos!
